Project Healthy Living Kickoff

Feb 24 - A Project Healthy Living Kickoff on February 24, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Adam Todd Caters, in Andover, will present an overview of all of the Health and Wellness Initiatives of the Sussex County Division of Seniors Services including: "Take Control of Your Health," which provides seniors and caregivers with tools and techniques to effectively manage chronic conditions; "Project Healthy Bones," an education and exercise program using light weights designed for men and women who are at risk or have osteoporosis; "Move Today," a non-aerobic, resistance band exercise program designed to improve flexibility, strength and stamina; "A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls," a program that offers practical strategies to reduce the fear of falling, address safety issues, increase activity levels, and improve balance, flexibility and strength through exercise. Some of the programs are offered in collaboration with Skylands RSVP Volunteer Resource Center, NORWESCAP, Inc. Those who attend the Project Healthy Living Kickoff will also learn about leadership opportunities for each of the programs. This FREE event includes a full breakfast buffet and requires pre-registration.
