NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Township of Byram for Proposed Improvements to Tomahawk Trail and Roseville Road – Phase II in the Township of Byram. The principal items of work are as follows:
Tomahawk Trail
· Roadway Reclamation and Grading: 5,355 Sq. Yd.
· Milling, 2” Thick: 3,465 Sq. Yd.
· Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5 M64 Surface Course, 1½” Thick: 510 Tons
· Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5 M64 Surface Course, 2” Thick: 440 Tons
· Hot Mix Asphalt 12.5 M64 Intermediate Course, 2” Thick: 680 Tons
· Traffic Stripes, Long Life Epoxy Resin, 4” Wide: 12,540 Lin. Ft.
· Other Items
Roseville Road – Phase II
· Roadway Excavation, Unclassified: 695 Cu. Yd.

Bids will be opened and read in public at the Byram Township Municipal Building, 10 Mansfield Drive, Stanhope, New Jersey 07874, on MAY 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM, prevailing time.
Specifications and Forms of Bids for the approved work prepared by Cory L. Stoner, Township Engineer, and approved by the Township Council have been filed in the office of said Engineer at 17 Plains Road, Augusta, New Jersey, and may be inspected by prospective bidders during business hours. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the Specifications and Blue Prints of the drawings by the Engineer on proper notice and payment of $60.00 for the cost of preparation, none of which is refundable. Mail or telephone requests will be honored at an additional charge of $5.00. Bids must be made on Standard Proposal Forms in the manner designated therein and required by the Specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and name of the Project on the outside: addressed to the "Township Clerk" for the Township of Byram and clearly marked on the outside "BID FOR PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO TOMAHAWK TRAIL AND ROSEVILLE ROAD – PHASE II", and must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit, Consent of Surety, Disclosure Statement, Bid Document Submission Checklist, and a Certified Check or Bid Bond for not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid, provided said check or bid bond need not be more than $20,000.00 (twenty thousand dollars) nor shall it be less than $500.00 (five hundred dollars) and be delivered at the place on or before the hour named above. The Standard Proposal Form, Non-Collusion Affidavit, and Disclosure Statement are attached to the Supplementary Specifications, copies of which will be furnished on application to the Engineer.
All bids must to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, Chapter 127 (Affirmative Action), PL 1977, Chapter 33 (Ownership), P.L.1999, Chapter 238 (Public Works Contractor Registration), and P.L. 2004, Chapter 57 (Business Registration). Bids are valid for a period of sixty (60) days.
The Township of Byram reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities in any bid, to reject any and all bids, and to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications. The Township reserves the right to reject any bids that exceed the available financial appropriations for this project.
