2017 Spring Trail Clean Up

Posted: May 09, 2017

The Environmental Commission and town volunteers, including four boy scouts from Byram Troop 276 worked together to clean-up Briar Ridge Trails.  The teams cleared the trails, trimmed overhanging branches and added blazes to guide the way for future hikers.   The scouts met a local resident on the trail, who said it was his first time hiking and he was very pleased to see the blazes to help him stay on the path.   In addition, the scouts learned about an invasive species (barberry) that was encroaching on the trail and were able to remove many of the shrubs.   The group had a great morning and was very productive.  Click here for the article that appeared in the Township Journal.
